Benefits of membershipOn behalf of our members, the CPMA engages in lobbying the federal government, seeking to advance the profession through legislative process. We also interact with private insurance companies in an effort to ensure that coverage, coding and payment policies for podiatric physicians are fair and reasonable. As well, we dialogue and network with major corporations to encourage that podiatric services be included in member benefits for their employees. The CPMA has several established programs and committees including:
Representation at the international levelThe CPMA has established friendship protocols with the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), the worldwide International Federation of Podiatrists (FIP) and the United Kingdom’s Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists (SOCAP). Through ongoing dialogue and networking with representatives from these organizations, the CPMA provides Canada’s perspective on podiatry and podiatric medicine. We also obtain information about conferences, initiatives and learning opportunities from around the world that may be of interest to our members. Membership has benefitsAs a member of the CPMA, you are uniting with your peers in participating in and supporting issues that you could not do alone. At the national level, your membership provides unity and strength in the CPMA’s voice as the recognized advocate for podiatric physicians and surgeons on all issues affecting foot and ankle health.
