COVID-19 PANDEMIC – A MESSAGE FOR OUR MEMBERS

March 24, 2020

As the COVID-19 pandemic quickly evolves, the CPMA will continue to provide important information from the Federal government and provincial health officials and share updates as news evolves. Communications will be consolidated on this webpage; please check back regularly for up-to-date information.

Guidelines for Podiatrists are the domain of the Regulatory Colleges across Canada. In unregulated provinces the options are likely to:

1) Follow the guidance from Medical Doctors;
2) Adopt guidance from Podiatric Regulatory Colleges in other Provinces; or,
3) Follow guidelines for small businesses – based on provincial labour regulations.

As recommendations from our Governments and Health Officials have been changing on a daily, and in some cases an hour by hour basis we will work to update you as best we can. This shutdown is unprecedented and could last many weeks, if not months. The safety of your patients and that of our members and their families must be at the forefront.

Doctors and Hospitals have been requesting facial masks and other supplies from other health care professionals whose businesses have currently been asked to shutdown during this crisis. If you have supplies that you can share with your local health professions, we ask that you consider doing so.
